I fell in love with portrait photography specifically when a close friend of mine offered to take photos of my wife and I at our old apartment complex. The location happened to be next to a literal mound of garbage surrounding the trash compactor. At the time I thought there’s no way to make this look good. To my surprise it looked like a beautiful open field. I then learned perspective is everything! Photography allows me to use my creativity while also using my love for people and building relationships!

Hey, my name is Jelani! I was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia and have lived here all my life. Believe it our not, I lived in the same house until I got married and moved out! I went to Hermitage High School and was on the drumline all 4 years. Yes, I am a proud band geek! Before I became a photographer, I actually owned a small residential painting business, I loved connecting with my clients and many of them have become close friends over the years! I’ve now moved to the Southside of the river with my beautiful wife, son and our two little dogs! My wife and I love to travel. We are very involved in our church, we love Jesus and do our best to show that through serving and giving for He is the foundation of what our lives stand on!
